With the history we have had in New Jersey…everybody remembers Sandy which was the big driving force between people installing whole house generators because a lot of people realized how important having emergency power is. The days of old when the telephone rang and your stove worked and heat worked without power those days are long gone. We have become so dependent upon power now that having that stand by generator at your home is almost as important as having that condensing unit outside for your air-conditioning. We have seen a large increase in people installing Whole House Generators. In the past, generators only did specific things in the house like the furnace, the refrigerator and a couple of the lights.

With the advent of all the electronics involved in our daily life now, between the internet, computers, tablets and the smart phones needing to be charged we are finding that people are not opting to do a couple of circuits in the home. Now people want to have the luxury, safety and convenience of having power everywhere. The smart appliances that we have in our home today makes the dependability of our power that much more crucial. The Alexa from Amazon, your refrigerator that has the shopping list in it all of these things require power and without the power and with an interruption in power you are going to loose all that data. So with the computers and the electronic world we are all living in power has become numero uno.
Whole House Generators have become extremely popular in New Jersey and the reason people opt for this is it gives you the ability to have access through the entire home, so no matter what room you are in you can turn on the lights, watch TV etc. The problem becomes that when you try to pick up the whole house, your also picking up your pool equipment and other things you really don’t need in the event of a power failure. This is where load shedding comes in and thats how we are able to take this 17KW air cooled Cummins Connect Generator and power your whole house.
A whole House Generator is a large financial investment on a homeowners pocketbook. So we strongly urge you to do your homework. Not all generator manufacturers are the same. Not all generators have the same capabilities and not all generators are backed by a warranty or the service company the sells, installs and services your generator. All done here in-house by us-factory warranty - by us no third party. So you are going to invest a lot of money, Invest it with people you can trust and that’s cummins and Academy.

As we move from hurricane season into they need features like remote monitoring we used, its thickness and shape, as well as winter storm season, back-up power has become top of mind with the unprecedented power outages left from hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria. But winter storm from nor’easters to ice storms can still cause dev- astating power outages.
So, what’s the difference between the various standby power sources, and what should you be asking your customers to think about? Primarily, it’s their preferences – how big of a unit do they need; how important are aesthetics and acoustics noise levels; do and load management? These are the ques- tions that we think about at Cummins when we’re designing a new generator. We exam- ine how each of these factors affects the design of our systems, and then we test those designs and refine them further. It’s what we’ve been doing for almost 100 years. (Read More)
